THE WINE

A refined and meticulously structured Pinot Noir.  Seductive aromatics of fresh cranberries, sour cherry and red plum are complemented by subtle notes of fresh toffee and timber spice.  Sitting within a complex and velvet tannin palate, the fruit is poised and composed.  A soft rounded mouthfeel finishes this elegant wine. 

 

VITICULTURE + WINEMAKING

The single clone of MV6 is sourced and hand-picked from our ‘C’ and ‘G’ Blocks. The fruit is fermented in open pot vessels with approximately 50% whole bunch fermentation. A 4-day cold soak under CO2 cover allowed a slow start to natural fermentation.  Handled gently with hand plunging.  Pressed when dry and immediately racked to oak, the wine finished fermentation and was matured in a combination of one-to three-year-old French puncheons and barriques for a period of 7 - 8 months.
