THE WINE
Shining bright pale gold in the glass, with green hue. Lifted white floral perfume, ripe white nectarine and freshly baked brioche. The palate is layered with stone and citrus fruits. A mouthwatering acidity is tamed by biscuit-like winemaking artefact, rounding the palate. Fine elegant oak provides a supportive structure to the fruit. This wine has great presence and persistence.
THE VINTAGE
The 2025 vintage can be considered broadly favourable across most varieties. Spring conditions were notably stable—arguably the most “normal” in recent years—with average monthly rainfall and slightly warmer-than-usual temperatures.
Summer brought a shift, marked by drier conditions and sustained warmth, especially in February, which saw eight days exceed 35°C. To support ripening, substantial supplementary irrigation was necessary to maintain optimal moisture levels.
Harvest commenced early, kicking off on 5 February. Remarkably, by 1 March, nearly all fruit had been picked.
VITICULTURE + WINE MAKING
Fruit was selected from our premium blocks of Mendoza clone Chardonnay. Pressed upon arrival, the juice was settled overnight before racking off the heavy sediment to French oak puncheons. The selected oak was 40% new with the balance seasoned. The alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation were undertaken by indigenous yeast. Upon completion of both, a 10-month maturation on yeast lees ensued, prior to racking to blending and bottling.
FOOD MATCH
Tasmanian scallops atop a cauliflower puree, drizzled with a baby caper and lemon butter sauce
