An elegant and finely structured Pinot Noir.  Seductive and defined aromatics of dark cherries, black berry, and pomegranate with hints of dried herbs.  These flow onto the palate and are complemented by subtle notes of burnt butter and oak spice.  Sitting within a complex and velvet tannin palate, the fruit is poised and composed.  A soft rounded mouthfeel from time on lees, finishes this elegant and structured wine. 


An uncharacteristic growing season, one of the most challenging vintages with breaking monthly rainfall records, high humidity, and disease pressure. Improved weather conditions were welcomed in January providing good ripening conditions. Although crops were down a little, fruit quality has been high resulting in elegant wines.


The single clone of MV6 is sourced and hand-picked from our ‘C’ and ‘G’ Blocks. The fruit is fermented in open pot vessels with approximately 15% whole bunch fermentation. A 4-day cold soak under CO2 cover allowed a slow start to natural fermentation with gently pump over to manage the temperature control and fruit extraction.  Pressed when dry and immediately racked to oak puncheons where the wine finished fermentation.  The oak selection was made up from 28% new, the balance seasoned.  Maturation on lees for 9 months prior to blending.
