Description

With dry conditions the 2012 Pinot was able to ripen to its full potential displaying darker fruit spectrum. Black Cherry, savoury cinnamon, shiitake mushroom and a stalky tomato leaf finish.

Winemaking Notes

Handpicked Fruit of 100% MV6 clone with 12 months in a blend of new (30%) new oak, with some selections going through whole bunch fermentation. A gentle filtration helped enable a smokey elegant appearance to enable a greater fruit complexity

Growing Conditions

2012 was a long dry growing season, coming off the back off a very wet 2011. This helped create wines of great acid profile and a return to beautiful ripe fruit characters. With dryer conditions the Pinot was able to ripen to its full potential displaying darker fruit spectrum.

Mushroom risotto and black Périgord truffles.
