THE WINE

2011 was a cool and wet year that created good conditions for Chardonnay in the Yarra Valley. Widely deemed as one of the more memorable vintages, the 2011 Coombe Yarra Valley Estate Chardonnay displays classic cool climate characters, modest palate weight, structure and minerality. Constructed with the sought after Gin Gin clone of the variety, all grown from the estate, this Chardonnay offers a sensory journey.

Upon the nose, it presents a rich tapestry of aromas, radiating the essence of ripe stone fruits entwined with the zest of citrus and then a fine minerality that lingers on the palate. The restrained use of French oak to support the fruit character produced a wine style ahead of its time with a more linear style ensuring a wine that is elegant, enduring and a regional classic.

The wine has been impeccably cellared, ensuring the wine quality and characters are maintained.

It's worth noting that this wine benefits from a brief moment of aeration and ensuring careful attention to temperature to allow its complexities to unfold and its nuances to be fully appreciated.

The 2011 Chardonnay reveals a story of time and craftsmanship, culminating in a lingering, elegant finish that leaves a lasting impression.
